To develop and maintain physical and mental health, The Academy will help every student to develop the habits, attitudes, and knowledge necessary to achieve maximum physical development an good health.

Tennis

The Cincinnati Recreation Commission-National Junior Tennis and Learning Program is free to participants seven to fourteen years of age.  Players with little to no experience are welcome.  Use of tennis rackets, balls, court time and group instruction is provided free of charge.  Participants will learn basic tennis strokes as well as how to play a match.  An educational element is also included in the program.

  • Participants will receive a T-Shirt.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to attend an ATP Youth Day.
  • Lunch will be provided at each session.
  • Participants will attend an ATP Tennis Match and meet top ranked players.

Golf

The Tony Yates Caring For Kids Foundation’s primary activity is its Junior Golf Academy which provides hands on instruction by PGA Professionals and community volunteers.  While the golf instruction provides important lessons about patience, discipline and perseverance, the Academy also provides off-the course opportunities with field trips and designed to further inspire and motivate.  One of the principle components is classroom time focused on life skills education.

  • The Foundation strives to provide each participant with shirts, hats, clubs, and bags.
  • Lunch is provided at each session.

 

Basketball

The purpose of the NKU Basketball Camp is to give each participant an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game and to play in a game situation.  Campers are grouped according to age and ability.  Dave Bezold’s, basketball camp will help participants develop appropriate priorities not only in athletics but in the classroom and in personal life as well.

  • Participants will receive an NKU Basketball and T-Shirt
  • Awards are given
  • Several hospitals are located within a 10-minute drive of the Highland Heights Campus.  A full-time trainer is available throughout the camp days.

Swimming

Pleasant Ridge has a library, a new elementary school (Pleasant Ridge Montessori), and a community center whose municipal swim team has won multiple Cincinnati City Championship meets throughout the years.
